Introduction
Millions of women have to deal with infertility in on way or another, as well as a smaller percentage of men. Most of them have no idea there is a problem until it's time to start a family. Signs of infertility are hard to recognize early on, but this is expected due to the various forms it takes. Once you start to understand how the signs differ from one person to the next, it makes it more understandable as to why there is some mystery to the whole issue if infertility.
Signs of Infertility in Women
There are numerous potential signs of infertility, but one of the most obvious is an irregular or unusual menstrual cycle. We understand irregular can mean several other things, but also nothing at all. There is a good possibility that this has no relationship to a fertility problem.
If you start feeling pain in the pelvic region, it could be a sign of PCOS or Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. You may also find unexpected changes in various other locations as well. For instance you may notice hair growth more on the face, chest, and back. However, you may find that you start losing your hair or it becomes extremely thin. These are signs of infertility that indicate a hormone problem.
Granted, weight may not be one of the signs of infertility, but can be the cause. You can be at both extremes of the spectrum here by either being too heavy or too thin. The difference is if you're dealing with obesity, there can be issues with your hormones. If you're too thin then the body is probably lacking the proper nutrients for a successful conception.
Signs of Infertility in Men
While most of us simply believe the signs of infertility will revolve around the woman, sometimes it's because of the man. If a man is dealing with un-descended testicles, he may be having trouble contributing to the process of conception. There are little things like wearing tight underwear or jeans, which can be a factor in a man's infertility. Places like super hot spas that produce extreme heat can reduce the overall sperm count. You definitely want to stay away from hot tubs and jacuzzis if you and your partner are trying for a baby.
While most of the signs of infertility differ, some of them are very similar. Hormone imbalance can be the cause of weight gain, which may reduce the overall sperm count. Anytime there is a sudden change in health, we recommend looking at it very carefully. Things such as substance abuse, smoking, alcohol and various other addictions can mess up the overall health of the individual. After noticing one sign that tips you off, you may then end up seeing several signs that infertility is present.
Final Thoughts
It's important to understand that even though these could be present, it doesn't necessarily mean there is an infertility issue. Many of the signs end up being nothing at all. A good way to deal with it is if you're trying to get pregnant and realize one or more of these problems, get to the doctor. It is reasonable to believe that these hold a more serious condition that has nothing to do with infertility. Outside of this, patience is the best cure to what seems like indications of infertility.
